This publication emerges from the mentorship program The Artistic Gesture in the Digital World, curated by Giuseppe Torre as part of the fellowship with Fondazione Studio Rizoma.

Featuring works by: Maria Bernardi, Laura Pitingaro, Laura Mocerino, Alessandro Costanzo, Giuseppe Rappa.

The volume brings together transcriptions of the conversations that unfolded during the sessions with the participants, offering a collective reflection on the relationship between artistic gesture, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and the transformation of identity in contemporary art. Through discussions, exercises, and theoretical exchanges, the project investigates themes such as the anonymization of gesture, the translation of the body into data, the relationship between humans and machines, and the critical possibilities of the digital realm.

The publication also includes the outcomes of the mentorship presented in the exhibition Are you a human?, the final result of the workshop-based program. The works and contributions collected here testify to a shared research process in which artistic practice and theoretical reflection intertwine, opening new questions about presence, authorship, and sensibility within the contemporary digital ecosystem.
