Silphium, an ancient plant native to Libya, is historically considered the first documented case of human-induced extinction. The performance evokes its return through a reflection on “prophecy as politics”, weaving together myth, memory and the hidden histories of Italian fascism.
The work combines spoken word, soundscapes, archival and imagined imagery, and is created in collaboration with artist Dina Jereidini. It pays tribute to Amazigh oral traditions and Bedouin poetry, drawing on the memories of survivors of the Italian concentration camps in Libya, which operated between 1911 and 1942.

Francesca Heart – Live
Francesca Heart’s music is a dreamlike vision in which ancient Mediterranean influences meet digital imaginaries. Her research explores fantasy, fragility and the grotesque dimensions of the sea.
Drawing inspiration from 1980s soundtracks and the landscapes of early 2000s video games, she weaves together experimental electronics, voice and enveloping synthesizers. Her sound is intimate and otherworldly, unsettling and serene.
The hypnotic tones of the shell lead listeners into a mysterious, almost mythological sonic dimension that seems to emerge from the depths of the sea and the remote reaches of the cosmos, suspending time.
Event in collaboration with Iperibleo.
