Victoire Barbot, Samuele Perraro, Laurent Eisler, and Marcos Uriondo are four artists from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region who came together through an invitation from the Marseille-based association DDA Contemporary Art, with the support of the European Union and in collaboration with Fondazione Studio Rizoma in Palermo. Their aim was to weave together their artistic practices and collectively imagine a research journey centered on fire, understood simultaneously as a natural phenomenon, a material, a cultural heritage, and a symbolic element.
At the Institut français in Palermo, following a journey across part of Sicily tracing the paths of researchers, volcanologists, and anthropologists, they will present the outcomes of this experience and explore how it has influenced and enriched their artistic practices.
