On 12 March, Meeraqui and Fondazione Studio Rizoma, in collaboration with Officine Bellotti, present MAI MAI MAI in Palermo as part of the tour for KARAKOZ, the new album released on 13 February via Maple Death Records.
An immersive and visionary live performance intertwining artistic research and political reflection within a shared curatorial framework.
MAI MAI MAI is the audio/video project of Toni Cutrone: a descent into the symbolic and ritual territories of Southern Italy and the Mediterranean. Through field recordings, archival materials, and collaborations with figures from the avant-garde scene, he constructs sonic landscapes in which folklore, spirituality, and popular culture become tools for critically interrogating the present.
The event highlights the political dimension of this research: the Mediterranean not as a romantic cartography, but as a space shaped by conflicts, migrations, colonial stratifications, and cultural resistance.
