We are excited to announce that the next edition of Earth Day Med will take place in Palermo from April 7 to 13.
The Mediterranean Climate Festival – Earth Day Med will be held at various locations throughout the city of Palermo, providing a transnational space for dialogue and the creation of a united voice for the environment. Thanks to its central position in the Mediterranean basin, Sicily preserves the memory of ancient cultures that have passed through the region over the centuries and is today a point of arrival for those fleeing conflicts and poverty, often exacerbated by climate change.
The festival will feature expert panels, citizen assemblies, public debates, as well as moments of play, learning, and art, engaging a diverse audience—including families, activists, students, civil society, and institutions. The key issues of the climate crisis will be addressed, from risk management to ecological transition and environmental and social sustainability. These themes will be explored through the essential elements of our daily lives: energy, water, and food.
In the coming weeks, the program, along with featured artists and keynote speakers, will be announced on our website and social media channels.
The festival is promoted by Fondazione Rizoma in collaboration with Ecco, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, and the University of Palermo, with the patronage of the Union for the Mediterranean, the Regional Department for Territory and Environment, and the Municipality of Palermo.
