Proudly grown as a musician in the underground music scene of Naples while finishing her academic studies on composition, Sara Persico has being based for years now in Berlin where she had found the ground to grow an international career.
She’s a composer, improviser, DJ, and it’s between different worlds, in a hybrid universe full of channels and passages, that her music transfigures continuously into different shapes but with a recognizable touch that gives a hint of her knowledge and the consistency of her research. In her recent EP Boundary she forces and eventually destroys limits and definitions with surprising self-confidence. In the dark and raw atmosphere, almost literally an underworld but still able to explode through different surfaces, and in which so many influences are melting into each other making no sense to enumerate them, there is a core of deep research on the self and on the very matter of sound.
In all of her music production and sets there is a sinuous shifting of all these forms, different elements and structures, implemented by a craftsmanship of composition and selection that deals strongly with visuality but always on a black background that might be the one of music invisibility itself.
