Speaker Music is the alias of musician, writer and curator DeForrest Brown Jr. In his music, techno returns to its African American roots, becoming both a historical narrative and an Afrofuturist vision: an idea of liberation from systems of repression, control and capture, in which rhythm acts as both a physical and conceptual instrument.
