The Between Land and Sea 2025 catalogue brought together contributions that explored this edition’s theme, “Significato” as a shared space between experiences, imaginaries, and possibilities for connection.
For the festival, Marie-Aurore D’Awans presented “Silence du Cœur”, a choral work created in dialogue with Eva Maria Bertschy and inspired by the work of Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, which staged the arrival of a group of young migrants in a Sicilian village. Through languages, memories, and traumas, the performance built a collective landscape in which the stage becomes a space for listening, crossing, and transformation.
In her contribution to the catalogue, echoing the words of Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, a reflection emerges on what connects people beyond their differences. Welcoming is not only about offering help, but about truly recognizing the other and their story.
