Ep. 2- Abdel Karim Ougri

The Between Land and Sea 2025 catalogue brings together personal contributions from the artists invited to engage with this year’s theme, “Significato.” For this edition, each artist was asked to offer both a personal contribution and a definition of the term “Meaning,” turning the publication into a collective space for reflection across practices, languages, and visions.

During the festival, Abdel Karim Ougri presented the exhibition “Of Time and Tide” at StudioTopo, curated by GiorgioMega, featuring the work “Above You, Above Me.” The video call was transformed into a contemporary nomadic language: from Pesaro to Casablanca, shared skies and sunsets became imaginary bridges. Through multi-channel video, digital traces, and silences, the installation redefined intimacy and diasporic connection in the glow of the screen.

For Ougri, “Significato is the value and explanation we give to things,” a collective process embedded in languages and practices.
