Proposing a format of curated citizens' assemblies and with the lead of key thinkers, political and social leaders, we aim to cultivate our memory legacy and to compare the past to the present, inviting people from different backgrounds to reflect, discuss and express in which kind of continent we want to live in.
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Berlin wall fall, in a moment where the public discourse has now shifted to extreme-right ideologies with undemocratic forces spreading through society, Building Bridges proposes five public encounters in different cities for artists, civil servants, activists, thinkers, researchers, workers, migrants and citizens from across Europe through which to think about the role of walls in the European recent past and present.
