Marie-Aurore D’Awans <\/i><\/b>is a Belgian-Spanish actress, author, director and mother. Since completing her studies in 2007, she has alternated between projects as an actress and as an assistant director. In 2017, she was awarded Best Female Newcomer at the Critics\u2019 Awards<\/i> for her performance in “Pas pleurer”<\/i>, directed by Denis Laujol<\/i> at the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Poche<\/i> (2016), based on the novel by Lydie Salvayre<\/i>. She co-founded the association “Deux euros cinquante”<\/i>, which supports homeless people in Brussels, both with and without legal status. Since then, she has managed this non-profit organization, organizing concerts and fundraising dinners to sustain its activities. In 2021, she directed “Mawda \u00e7a veut dire tendresse”<\/i>, a choral performance featuring eight actors that tells the story of Mawda Shawri and her family, a moving reflection on institutional violence and humanity in exile.<\/p>\n
During her residency at Fondazione Studio Rizoma in Palermo, she will develop the next stage of “Silence Du Choeur”,<\/i> inspired by the novel by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr, <\/i>a project that weaves together, migration, listening, and collective storytelling between Africa and Europe.<\/p>\n
