Today, three-quarters of the world’s population lives under authoritarian rule, and even in major European nations, we are witnessing a “democratic fatigue” that is increasingly distancing citizens from those who govern. It is undeniable that while almost everything else has changed over the last eighty years, our democratic systems have remained largely unaltered. Good Lobby has long been committed to redefining the meaning of democracy and participation in Italy and across Europe; we believe that democracy—imperfect as it may be—remains the best form of government. We invite you to join us in exploring what it means to innovate democratic tools today, while keeping their core principles intact. To this end, we have launched a series of “civic listening” sessions across Italy, focused on the intersection of innovation and democracy. Our goal is to bring together diverse voices—often those rarely heard—to reimagine democratic participation for the second quarter of this century.

Following our initial sessions in Milan, Turin, and Rome, we are now arriving in Palermo.
If you would like to learn more about our “Democracy Listening Circles,” you can explore the following resources:
Exercising the Democracy Muscle
Why Those Who Seek the Common Good Dislike Lobbying Laws

No preparation or materials are required—simply set aside two hours to be fully present, free from electronic devices, and share what democracy means to you, as well as what you believe needs to change within the current democratic framework in Italy and Europe.

Register here.
