The festival took shape as an open platform, capable of weaving together knowledge, practices, and visions from diverse contexts, united by the need to imagine and build pathways toward a just transition.

Over the course of the event, a wide range of activities took place – workshops, conferences, and moments of dialogue and exchange. These contributed to defining the Mediterranean as a true hotspot: a complex yet fertile territory in which to experiment with new forms of relationship between environment, society, and culture. The publication Earth Day Med 2026 emerges as an extension and consolidation of this process. The volume gathers original contributions from the organizations and activists who participated in the festival, offering a plurality of perspectives, practices, and reflections on the themes addressed.
