for you &#8211; to explore how creative practices can become tools for political action, community transformation, and ecological justice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For one week in Palermo, a group of young artivists from across Europe will gather to learn, reflect, train, and build the foundations of future creative actions to fight for climate and social justice.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>\ud83c\udf0d Who Can Apply?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Y<\/strong><b>oung people aged 20\u20132<\/b><strong>5<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> residing in the EU<\/strong> who are already active in artistic and\/or activist communities, who use (or wish to use) creativity as part of their political or ecological engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We aim for a <\/span><b>balanced and diverse group<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with a strong representation of participants living in Italy and Sicily &#8211; including some based in Palermo &#8211; while also welcoming a significant number of young people from across the rest of Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also welcome participation from <\/span><b>local groups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and we will create bridges between incoming participants and the workshops\/activities of the Palermo-based festival <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earth Day Med<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u2728 What the residency is about<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b>Training young artists and activists in the principles of artivism <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to help them form a group, explore core practices, understand political &amp; ecological contexts, and prepare to develop their own actions once they return home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>But what is <i>Artivism<\/i>?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artivism is the intentional use of creative practices for political and social action.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It combines creativity, strategy, symbolism, and collective intelligence to influence culture, challenge power structures, and make democratic struggles visible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the residency, participants will explore these principles through:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fA local case study linked to Palermo\u2019s ecological and cultural context,<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u3030\ufe0fWorkshops on the roots and methods of artivism,<\/p>\n<p>\u3030\ufe0fCollective learning inspired by the festival\u2019s program and roundtables,<\/p>\n<p>\u3030\ufe0fDeep reflection on climate and biodiversity issues through artistic and political lenses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udcdd The Programme\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud83d\udcbb Before the Residency \u2014 4 Webinars<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Four online sessions will prepare the group and provide a shared foundation on different topics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>\ud83e\udec2 During the Residency<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fWorkshops, guided reflections, and situational exercises<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fExploration of Palermo\u2019s local ecological and cultural context<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fParticipant exchanges &amp; building a transnational community of artivists<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fIntegration of festival content (e.g., watching a panel, then working with the ideas)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fFinal day: <\/span><b>\u201cApply it to your local context\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 turning learning into a first project vision<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udc9a Connection to the Palermo Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The residency will interact with the Earth Day Med Palermo festival produced and curated by Fondazione Studio Rizoma:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fAttending festival programmations (discussions, screenings, workshops, etc)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fReflecting collectively on themes such as climate, biodiversity, democracy, migration, or Mediterranean ecologies<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u3030\ufe0fIntegrating festival insights into the training path<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is a <\/span><strong>training-only program<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Participants will <\/span><strong>not carry out a public action during the residency<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but will prepare the ground to implement one once they return to their local context.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Buddy System<\/strong><b>: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each participant is paired with another to support reflection, learning, and integration. Participants may invite friends or collaborators to the follow-up coaching sessions after the residency.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>\u25aa\ufe0fLogistics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span
